Long-term Storage Carousels
PASSER provide long-term storage carousels designed with client specific capacity ratings and functionality, including;
- Long term storage of e.g. spare products (up to 50 years)
- Split compartments that can run individually or combined.
- Large capacity storage for cable manufacturing plants.
The carousels are delivered with drive-systems for handling of the spooled product, which typically can be spare segments of cable, rope or umbilical for offshore projects located near the storage area of the carousel.
Storage Carousels
PASSER Process carousels is used for intermediate storage in the cable manufacturing process. The carousel design is based on a torsion box for the deck which in turn is mounted on to a slewing bearing. The slewing bearing is seated on a grillage which is placed on to a concrete foundation or similar. The slewing bearing is equipped with an external tooth rack that interconnects to the drive skid’s pinion. Depending on the Carousel usage, the walls attached to the rotating deck can be either of a stanchion type or of a plated type design.
Production Carousels
Degassing Carousels. Our degassing carousels is a enclosed system with over pressure continuously circulating the air flow, enabling maximum ventilation. The cable is laid with spacers, ensuring flow through all layers. A single exhaust ensures control over the gas flow and safe environment for the surroundings.
Conductor Carousels. PASSER conductor carousels are based on a torsion box design for the deck, mounted onto a slewing bearing, which enables the rotation of the deck. The slewing bearing is seated on a grillage, which in turn is mounted onto a concrete foundation or similar. The slewing bearing is equipped with an external tooth rack that interconnects to the drive skid’s pinion.
Installation Carousels
PASSER design and manufacture carousels for offshore transport and operation. The installation carousel can be modular and operated world wide unrestricted. PASSER single bearing Carousels are suitable for quick and easy installation and mobilization either onshore or onboard vessels.
