PASSER's Reel Drive System is designed for use when spooling cable onto a reel. The reel is placed onto the Reel Drive System and the system will then elevate the reel before spooling start.
Function
The Reel Drive system has three primary motions and is powered by a Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU).
The three main motions are:
Rotation Two slewing gears with pinions drives a slewing bearing to rotate the reel adapter.
Lifting Vertical Each tower holds two large cylinders for lifting the reel.
Horizontal Movement Two cylinders, one on each side of the tower base moves the towers in the horizontal plane.
