Dancer Magazine
PASSER’s Dancer Magazine, positioned between the master and slave puller, is a critical risk mitigation unit in cable production.
It continuously regulates cable tension by dynamically adjusting the slave puller speed, compensating for slack and load fluctuations to prevent damage, quality deviations, and line instability.
At the same time, its integrated buffer capacity absorbs shocks, micro-stoppages, and unexpected production interruptions—maintaining process continuity and reducing the risk of costly downtime or scrap.
Reduce Cable Stress
Reduce dynamic stress on the cable.
Smooth Operation
Provides smooth operation throughout the cable spooling process.
Compensate Slack Variations
Compensates for minor tension or slack variations
Functions
The dancer magazine is positioned between a master puller and a slave puller. It serves two critical functions:
1. Dancer Function
The system acts as a dancer by regulating the position of the outer wheel to compensate for slack or temporary tension in the cable. The speed of the slave puller is adjusted based on the position of the outer wheel in the dancer magazine. If the wheel reaches the outer limits of its loop function, alarms or potential line stops are triggered, allowing the operator to take corrective action.
2. Buffer/Magazine Function
As the name implies, the dancer magazine also acts as a buffer unit. This function is especially useful for absorbing unexpected production stops.
